You’ve just written a great post but instead of hitting publish, you hesitate. Why? asks Samantha Meurant, business coach and host of The Rural Compass.

The most common reason why you might be sitting there staring at your phone wanting to push publish on the post but can’t bring yourself to do it, is fear.

Fear of judgement for the people you know, fear of judgement from the people you don’t know. Fear of comparison. Fear that you are going to say something wrong, that you might upset someone or just come across like you don’t know what you are talking about because you’re new in the game or too old for the game.

And you are not alone, you would be amazed at how many women contact me, who have lost their content creation mojo and this mainly due to that fear taking over. But when you are running an online business that post that you don’t publish could be do or die for your business.

How can you move past the fear of publishing that post?

  1. Be confident

Hard truth not everyone is going to want to read your content and when you try to speak to everyone you end up speaking to nobody.

But I want you to be confident that the people who you have chosen to serve value the content and information you are sharing with them and that their lives would be less without you pressing publish.

  1. Acknowledge the fears

Acknowledging the fears that you have around posting, whether that be, fear of creating content, fear of judgement, fear of offending someone, fear of trolls and keyboard warriors. It’s time to work out what your true fear is around posting and work towards overcoming it.

There are professionals out there like myself who’s job is to help you to plan and create content that your audience will engage with. If you are afraid of pressing publish maybe you are worried what you are posting is pointless, confusing, or just irrelevant to you audience, that’s what I am here for. To help you create the content that connects.

  1. Have a plan

This is so important, by planning ahead you are able to ensure the content that you create is valuable for the audience but also benefits your business. Showing up randomly and inconsistently can confuse your audience, you want to create loyal followers who support you. So show up for you, your business and your audience consistently.

Think of this as the reminder you need! Stop procrasti-scrolling, it’s time to show up online with confidence because the world is a better place because of what you have to say and offer.
